Anchor chain swivels fall into the category of small‑sized, ultra‑heavy forged steel components. They are used for connection and rotation between the anchor chain and the anchor, or between chain sections. Individual pieces are heavy, compact in structure, and have high surface precision. During transport, impact protection and corrosion prevention are key priorities.

• Individual weight is concentrated: despite their small volume, forgings are dense; large swivels can weigh several hundred kilogrammes to several tonnes, requiring vehicles and lifting gear with appropriate load capacity.

• Irregular shape: with shackles or connecting pins at both ends, they are unstable to place and require dedicated supports or timber padding.

• Precision machined surfaces: mating surfaces such as pin holes, threads, and rotating faces have high fit precision. Impact damage can directly affect assembly and performance.

• High anti‑corrosion requirements: they are typically hot‑dip galvanised or painted. Lashing gear must be prevented from directly abrading the coating.

• When multiple pieces are shipped together, they must be classified, stacked carefully, and protected from impact and scattering.

Step 1: Domestic Inland Transport
Clients may either arrange delivery to our designated port consolidation yard themselves or authorise us to provide door‑to‑door pick‑up. We provide suitable transport vehicles covering major anchor chain and marine forging manufacturing bases nationwide. Based on piece weight, we deploy the appropriate vehicle to ensure safe delivery to the consolidation yard.

Step 2: Packaging Solution + Vessel Type Matching
We develop a packaging plan according to piece weight and quantity: small items are packed into crates, while large items are individually secured. The appropriate vessel type is selected to ensure proper stowage of heavy pieces.

Step 3: Lashing and Securing
All operations comply with shipping line requirements and industry standards.

Our lashing solution:

• Large swivels are placed on timber sleepers or rubber pads to prevent hard contact with the container floor.

• Lashing straps or steel wire ropes are passed through the shackle holes or body fixing points and secured to container lashing points.

• Accessories such as connecting pins and shackles are wrapped with stretch film to prevent loss and corrosion.

• When multiple items are shipped together, timber separators are placed between them to prevent collision.

• Small swivels, shackles, etc., are sorted and packed into crates with cushioning material inside, and the crates are labelled with specifications and quantities.

• After the entire vessel is lashed, photographs are taken for documentation, and a lashing inspection certificate is issued.

Step 4: Port Operations
We submit the operation plan to the terminal in advance and coordinate appropriate lifting gear. Dedicated supervisors oversee the loading, re‑inspect the lashing condition, and only after confirmation arrange for vessel loading. We also cooperate with customs inspections and assist with clearance procedures.

Step 5: Ocean Freight Booking
Based on piece weight, quantity, and destination port, we select the most suitable vessel type and route, prioritising shipping lines with proven experience in heavy cargo transport. Our main cooperating vessel types include: breakbulk / general cargo vessels and multi‑purpose vessels. We cover major ports from China to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Europe. We also provide recommendations for marine insurance solutions.

Step 6: Destination Delivery
We notify the consignee in advance of the voyage schedule and estimated time of arrival, assist with discharging and customs clearance at the destination port, and coordinate local transport resources for last‑mile delivery. Throughout the process, we provide full tracking of all logistics milestones and keep you updated with real‑time transport status.
